The Suvisesha Sevika Sangham, the women’s wing of the Mar Thoma church was inaugurated in 1919, during the Maramon Convention, under the leadership of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan.
Every women of the Marthoma church eighteen and older is a member of Sevika Sangham. The early growth and success of this organization was due to the contributions of one of the founding members Mrs. Kandamma Varghese, the first General Secretary. She traveled far and wide, organizing women for evangelistic work; self-sacrificing, and working tirelessly that allowed the Sevika Sangham to grow.
CMTC Sevika Sangham is a registered organization under the diocese of North America and Europe. Our parish belongs to the Mid-West Region Center. Our Sevika Sangham is actively involved with the programs of national and regional activities. Each year our members attend these conferences and meetings. Our Sevika Sangham organization has been empowering women by actively involved in Bible studies, visiting sick people, and supporting charities like Marriage Aid, Education Aid, and Orphanages in Kerala.“Serve the Lord even in the midst of brokenness.”
